Program:
All students in the Elementary School participate in a comprehensive program of study with English as the language of instruction. This program includes Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies taught by the classroom teacher, in addition to French, Art, Music, Physical Education, Computer, and Library taught by specialist teachers. Arabic for both native and non-native speakers and German only for native speakers, are also offered as pullout programs. Emphasis in the Elementary School is placed on students building language skills across the curriculum, and offering a balanced program both in literacy and across all subject areas.
Academic and/or Reading Support:
Students who demonstrate mild learning differences may by supported by our Academic and/or Reading Support teachers. ACST can accommodate students for whom we already have programs in place.
After-school Activities:
Students have opportunities to participate in a wide variety of After School Activities, among them a Strings program, Elementary choir, Destination Imagination and other sports activities. The Elementary Student Council plays a role in implementing school-wide initiatives and offering leadership opportunities to students.
Field Trips:
Throughout the grades, students have many opportunities to participate in field trips, visiting many and varied historic and natural sites throughout the Tunis area.
Assemblies:
Students attend monthly assemblies where we come together as an Elementary school to celebrate the learning of each grade level. Parents are also welcome at these gatherings, as we build a strong sense of community amongst all members.
