Welcome to ACST’s High School
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the American Cooperative School of Tunis, and to share with you our school mission of “Opening Doors, Hearts and Minds”. Our mission is to educate the whole child to meet the needs of the present, and to equip them with the resources to tackle the uncertainties of the future. As the High School Principal, I am very proud of what our school has to offer. We have a diverse student population with representatives from across the world. Our faculty are dedicated and enthusiastic, and are always ready to assist our students in realizing their full potential. As an IB Diploma Program school, we provide a demanding curriculum that serves to prepare our students to enter universities and colleges across the globe.
The High School Program at ACST serves students in grades 9-12. Students in grades 9 and 10 are enrolled in English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, French, Physical Education, ESL for students who need to improve their proficiency in English, and at least two electives. Elective offerings include Art, Advanced Art, Advanced Technology, Music, Model UN, Drama, Modern Standard Arabic, Economics, Introduction to Research, Media and Communication Arts, and Musical Drama. In grades 11 and 12, ACST offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program leading to the IB Diploma, and an American High School Diploma.
Complementing the academic program is a High School Advisory Program. Students are placed in small groups and assigned to a faculty member who serves as their academic advisor.
Many leadership opportunities exist for High School students, including the High School Student Council, the National Honor Society, the French Honor Society, and the Community, Action, and Service (CAS) Program. ACST believes very strongly in the educational value of a wide variety of extracurricular activities and High School students have an opportunity to participate in Varsity sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball, swimming, and track and field), Choir, Concert Band, and Prom Committee. The High School offers a Tunisian Studies Program that gives our students an opportunity to explore the history, culture, and customs of Tunisia.
All this takes place in a supportive, positive environment in which a real partnership exists between students, parents and faculty, working together so that all our students can attain their goals.
Welcome to ACST
