Middle School
'Opening Doors, Hearts, and Minds' |
The middle school students are given an opportunity to explore and mature under the close supervision of teachers experienced in the needs of early adolescents. Students go to the classrooms of different academic disciplines for instruction. Core courses include
English language and literature, social studies, science, French, and mathematics. In addition to the core subjects, middle school students in grade 6 have one block of exploratory classes and students in grades 7 and 8 have two blocks of exploratory classes. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is also available as an exploratory class for students of any language background. It should be noted that if students choose to take MSA, they would not have an opportunity to participate in all exploratories offered in the middle school. The ‘exploratories’ may change each quarter and may include art, music, technology, health, drama, media literacy and other special programs or subjects. German is also available but for native speakers only.
