Drama includes an examination of how theatrical productions are made, theatrical terminology, various theatrical techniques, portrayal of a character on stage, teamwork, and presentations to an audience. The course also includes theater games, improvisational theater, and work towards a theatrical production, workshops with lower school students, and study of various theatrical works.
Middle School Drama Elective
This nine-week course offers students the opportunity for participation in a variety of drama activities such as pantomime, monologue, character analysis, improvisation, and scene work. The class focuses on building student self confidence, creative expression, and cooperative learning. Many opportunities will be provided for the analysis and creation of characters. The highlight of the course is a production in which class members will become the cast of characters as well as the production and stage crew.
