At the American Cooperative School of Tunis, we believe sports, particularly in a school setting, play an important role in the physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being of students. And we are proud of the athletic opportunities that we offer our students.

We believe that leadership qualities are developed and nourished through sports. We emphasize virtues such as discipline, sportsmanship, effort, respect, motivation, and pride in each of our athletic teams and these attributes make up the core of our philosophy.

Our athletics program is one of the strongest in the region. Our students are the driving force for our programs to exist and all our efforts focus on providing the best opportunities for them!

We hope that you will explore what is available for you or your children.

Athletic Director

Autumn Sports

As school begins, students in middle and high school may choose to try out for our boys and girls volleyball teams. We offer a season for both middle school and high school players. In addition, students in grades 4-12 can join the ACST swim team. The varsity volleyball and swim teams participate in the Maghreb American Schools Athletics Conference (MASAC). Schools in this conference include: Rabat American School, American School of Tangier, American School of Marrakech, Casablanca American School, George Washington Academy and American Academy of Casablanca.

Winter Sports

Our winter sports include middle and high school boys and girls basketball teams as well as a grades 6-12 cross-country team. Varsity basketball teams participate in the Maghreb American Schools Athletics Conference (MASAC). Schools in this conference include: Rabat American School, American School of Tangier, American School of Marrakech, Casablanca American School, George Washington Academy and American Academy of Casablanca. Swimming competitions continue throughout the winter months.

Spring Sports

We finish out our year in sports with boys and girls soccer, both in middle school and in high school. Varsity soccer teams participate in the Maghreb American Schools Athletics Conference (MASAC), while middle school soccer teams travel to Verona, Italy, to compete in the famous Mediterranean Cup, one of the biggest competitions in Europe. The ACST Swim Team practices continue into spring and culminate in an end-of-season MASAC meet. All secondary students are able to join the ACST Track and Field team which competes in the Screaming Eagles Track and Field event at Cairo American College. This event hosts American and International schools from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Opening Hearts

One of the hallmarks of American school system is the belief that children need a well-balanced program of education. We strive to open our students’ minds to new possibilities and new experiences. ACST students are not only scholars, they are also athletes, artists, change agents, responsible citizens, and caregivers.
