ACST MUN Delegates Shine at BCNMUN Barcelona
Ten students from our ACST MUN club got the opportunity to travel to Barcelona and debate in the BCNMUN conference. The conference was an amazing experience for our delegates, as we built on public speaking skills, with some committees reaching over 80 delegates from different schools worldwide. Skills such as collaboration and critical thinking were strengthened throughout the conference through debating global issues, negotiating resolutions, and an activity where we had no internet access to solve a crisis. Beyond the conference, being in an international environment helped us gain new friendships and have a deeper understanding of different cultures, reinforcing the importance of open-mindedness and respect in global discussions. Overall, the trip was both challenging and rewarding as three students of our students won either best delegate or honorable mentions. This conference strengthened our passion for international relations while creating lasting memories as a group.
Reflections from recent international conferences
Prague (2023)
The Prague conference encouraged us to refine essential skills such as collaboration, effective communication, and critical thinking. It also strengthened the bonds within our group, as we worked together under pressure and supported one another through each committee session. This experience helped us build a more cohesive and motivated team
Cairo (2024)
Our trip to Cairo gave us the chance to practice decision-making and leadership in a fast-paced setting. It taught us the importance of preparation and flexibility, which have since become key strengths behind our MUN success. The trip also enhanced our cultural sensitivity and made us more internationally aware as a team.
Dubai - Harvard MUN (2025)
Participating in Harvard MUN in Dubai was a transformative experience for our top delegates. It pushed us to reach new levels of professionalism and raised our expectations for what we can achieve together. The conference helped us network with students from around the world and inspired us to bring fresh ideas and a higher standard of excellence back to ACST.
