New Student Admission Step by Step

Welcome to the American Cooperative School of Tunis Admissions page. ACST provides educational opportunities for resident expatriate families in Tunisia and host country nationals who seek an American style education for their children. Admissions decisions are based on available space, previous school records, and satisfactory performance on the ACST admissions tests. 

Applications can be made either online or manually. We highly recommend the online method, which will allow you to upload documents, and make the non-refundable $200 application fee payment from one site. Please be sure to have the appropriate documents ready when you start the online application process. 

PK1 and PK2 documents: 

Kindergarten-Grade 12 documents:

  • A copy of students passport (information page only) 
  • Passport size photo
  • Student Medical Form (Formulaire de version française)
  • A copy of each parent’s passport (information page only)
  • An ACST Confidential Reference Form for each child from the most recent school principal, counselor, elementary school classroom teacher or math and English teacher. 
  • Previous School Records/Transcripts/Test Reports for the last three school years, where this applies. If these records are not in English, French or Arabic please provide an official translation.
  • Standardized achievement test scores (e.g MAP, ITBS, PLAN, etc) 
  • Any Psychological, educational or special education evaluations or records, IEP or existing individual learning plans. 
  • Non-refundable $200 application fee paid online.

Online Application

Click the button below to enter the ACST's online application. You will be asked to create an account, which will allow you to complete your application. You will be able to review your application at any time, upload documentation, and make your payment of the non-refundable $200 application fee per applicant. Please be sure you have all documents ready to upload before beginning the application process and fill out all of the required fields on the online application.
(Completion of applications and collection of all required records is the responsibility of the family. Falsifying or omitting information on any of the required documents may cause disqualification or nullification of acceptance.)

Manual Application 

If you are unable to do the online application, you may download and print the application. Please scan and send the completed application and appropriate documents via e-mail to Or you may deliver all the required application documents to Feriel Boudabous, the Admissions Officer at ACST and make the payment of the non-refundable $200 application fee per applicant (At the school Cashier). An appointment will be scheduled by the Admissions Officer after documents have been received and you will be assisted while entering application information on our school computer.

Confidential ACST Reference 

Teachers, Counselors, or Principals from the previous school should submit a confidential recommendation form directly to Feriel Boudabous at  

  • Kindergarten – 5th grades: Reference from Classroom Teacher and Principal or Counselor (download form)
  • 6th – 12th grades: Reference from English Teacher, Math Teacher and Principal or Counselor (download form)

Records from Previous School

  • Official school records in English for the three years prior to admission.
  • All standardized testing results from the previous three years. 
  • Any educational testing results and/or existing individual learning plans.
  • Families with students requiring English Language support or Learning Support should visit Learning Support and EAL information page.  

Medical Forms 

On-Site Admissions Test (upon receipt of a completed application file)  

  • Upon receipt of the complete application, school records and payment of application fee, candidates will be scheduled for on-site admissions testing in reading, language and math. These tests will then be evaluated for admission. 
  • Secondary School Students must also take a math, French, Arabic, or German placement test.
  • Students coming from accredited American schools or comparable international schools may be admitted provisionally, based on previous school performance. Upon arrival, these students will take placement tests.
  • Further testing may be required for EAL and/or Academic Support.
Acceptance and Placement 
  • All enrollment and placement decisions are made by the school administration.
  • The final decision on admission and placement will be made once the student has completed testing and all documents have been reviewed.
  • A student’s acceptance may be conditional, dependent on ACST’s ability to provide an appropriate academic program and on the student’s ability to succeed.

Fees and Payment 

  • In order to have the student(s) begin attending classes, parents must sign an acceptance letter and other financial documents. Original documents are to be returned to the Admissions Officer. Parents will receive an invoice from the Finance Office.
