One of the SS goals is to grow student life opportunities.
This past Friday our new “pep” band played at halftime and between quarters for both our boys and girls varsity basketball games. It was a festive atmosphere for band members, players, and spectators.

Last Thursday after-school, we had a visit from the Arc En Ciel, a foundation for children with down syndrome, between 8 to 16 years of age.
It was our first time to welcome them to the ACST community; nevertheless, we enjoyed many different activities such as arts & crafts, dancing, chatting, and sharing snacks, even with the surmounting language barriers. It was a pleasure to meet and interact with them, that we actually enjoyed more than they did. When I was in kindergarten, I had a friend with down syndrome, but for some of the students, it was their first time interacting with them and I heard many students saying that it was a great opportunity that they were glad to be part of the event. Youth Club hosted this event where the club members (mostly HS students) got involved. I would like to see more of this kind of event regularly, not only for the Youth Club members but also for all the ACST community, with our mission…opening our doors, hearts, and minds.
